Scholarly Communication Committee - Charge
The AAHSL Scholarly Communication Committee was appointed in February 2003 to develop, recommend, and guide the implementation of a plan and activities in support of the Association’s stand on the range of issues relating to Scholarly Communication. Among the topics to be considered are
1) Models of scholarly publishing, including investigation, analysis and consideration of Association support, collaboration, or other responses;
2) Pricing or licensing of print and electronic resources, including strategies and activities to influence publisher or vendor actions or relations with libraries;
3) Communications, strategies and activities to inform, educate, and collaborate with academic health sciences administrators, faculty, or others stakeholders and organizations in the scholarly communications process;
4) Communications, strategies and activities to inform and educate Association members, including mechanisms for sharing and disseminating information from and to them through timely and appropriate methods.
