The Library As Place: Symposium on Building and Revitalizing Health Sciences Libraries in the Digital Age

This Symposium focused on the importance of the Library As Place and the impact of new technologies and other factors on planning for new library facilities and the renovation of existing facilities.

The Symposium was held on November 5-6, 2003 at the Lister Hill Center on the NIH Campus. It featured a wide range of speakers, poster presenters, and exhibitors, as well as approximately 175 attendees.

This Web site includes links to Web sites and print citations relevant for planning, as well as links to recent health sciences libraries building projects (both new and renovated buildings). There are also links to resources for help and advice for those considering a building project or in the midst of one.

A videocast of the Symposium and the slides from most speaker's presentations are available from the Agenda, Presentations, and Videocast portion of this site.
