Website Update

As members know, we are marking the 25th anniversary of the publication of the AAMC's Matheson-Cooper Report --  Academic Information in the Academic Health Sciences Center: Roles for the Library in Informaiton Management -- via a special web page.  We hope to update the page during the year with additional features.  This project also led to the development of a new Honorees page highlighting individuals honored by AAHSL.  Check out both new pages.

We have also completed the posting of all the content from our 2007 special program on scholarly communication.  Check out the Toolkit pages for the slides presentations from Chris Surridge, PLoS; Alexia McCray, Harvard's Countway Library, and Karla Hahn, Scholarly Communication - ARL.

New Web Site Features for the New Year

The AAHSL web site opens 2008 with a new feature: a special page honoring the 25th anniversary of the Matheson-Cooper Report. The report's official title is Academic Information in the Academic Health Sciences Center: Roles for the Library in Information Management. The report was originally published as a supplement to the Journal of Medical Education (now, Academic Medicine), October 1982 issue. The report's authors, Nina Matheson and the late John A.D. Cooper, are featured on the web page. Forthcoming features include an online bibliography of articles about the report and the IAIMS grants it recommended and testimonials on the impact of the report on health sciences libraries. A new Spotlight also starts the new year and shines on the Lamar Soutter Library at the University of Massachusetts. Check out these new features.
