Welcome
Libraries in Medical Education (LiME) is an official special interest group (SIG) within the regional Groups on Educational Affairs (GEA). GEA ( http://www.aamc.org/members/gea) is one of several professional development groups of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). There are four official LiME SIGs, which reside within the Central, Southern, Northeast and Western regions.
Since 2005 LiME has been active presenting posters and paper sessions, leading continuing education workshops and meeting at national and regional meetings. As the LiME groups grow and look to the future, there is a desire for increased national collaboration between the regional LiME groups and other organizations such as MLA and AAHSL. It is hoped that LiME will facilitate the sharing of best practices and educational materials, as well as serve as a forum for questions, opportunities and collaborations.
Currently LiME boasts over 100 members from more than 75 institutions. LiME membership is open to any member of an AAMC institution who self-identifies as being interested in Libraries in Medical Education. For more information or to become a member, please contact:
Northeast: Nancy Tannery: tannery@pitt.edu
Central: Gurpreet K. Rana: preet@umich.edu
Western: Jeanne Le Ber: jeannele@lib.med.utah.edu
Southern: Laura Cousineau: cousinel@musc.edu

Dinner in San Antonio
As the national AAMC meeting quickly approaches a LiME dinner is being planned for Sunday evening in San Antonio. We hope you will all be able to join us and plan to make a reservation soon. If you are interested, please RSVP to me, Lauren Maggio at lmaggio@stanford.edu by October 25. Feel free to invite your colleagues--the more the merrier!
LiME / AAHSL Joint Poster Presentation
At AAMC in San Antonio, LiME and AAHSL are jointly presenting a poster highlighting the groups' initiatives and relationship to AAMC. We are hoping to staff the poster while it is up on Sunday and Monday. Please email Lauren Maggio (lmaggio@stanford.edu) if you would be interested in volunteering some time. This is a great opportunity to meet medical educators from around the world and to talk up LiME. It is also a great chance to get other librarians interested in our group.
