Web Site Update

Several new items are posted to the AAHSL web site:

--  A new Spotlight is now posted highlighting the services and collections of the Drexel University Health Sciences Libraries.

--  A new testimonial appears on the Matheson-Cooper Anniversary page.  Here, you will see the Matheson-Cooper Report described as "the First Roadmap to the Clinical Translational Science  Awards" by Darrell G. Kirch, M.D., President and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges.

--  AAHSL will support the web presence of LiME, Librarians in Medical Education.  While planning is underway for LiME's web content, LiME plans on meeting at the upcoming MLA annual meeting.  To learn more about LiME and its regional and national initiative, please attend the national LiME meeting at MLA in Chicago on Monday, May 19 from 8:00-9:00 AM in the Toronto Room at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

--Doreen R. Bradley, Liaison Services Coordinator, Health Sciences Library, University of Michigan, for the 2008 ACRL/Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians;

--Katherine V. Chew, Associate Director for Collections, Research and Access Services, Health Sciences Libraries, University of Minnesota, for the 2008 ACRL/Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians;

--Jane Fama, Associate Director, Public Desk and User Services, Lamar Soutter Library, University of Massachusetts Medical School, for the 2008 ACRL/Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians;

--Douglas L. Varner, Associate Director/Chief Biomedical Informationist, Dahlgren Memorial Library, Georgetown University Medical Center, for the 2008 AAMC GIR Leadership Institute;

--Frances M. Yarger, Assistant Director Computing Services, Health Science Library System, University of Pittsburgh/University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, for the 2008 AAMC GIR Leadership Institute.

AAHSL Leadership Scholarships support the development of leadership skills  for persons with an interest in leading academic health sciences libraries. Since 2003, 33 scholarships have been awarded for attendance at educational programs or for individually designed learning experiences.
