New AAHSL Leadership Scholarship Awadees Announced

Congratulations to the newest recipients of AAHSL Leadership Scholarships:

--Karen S. Grigg, Assistant Director, Collection Services, Duke University Medical Center, for the 2008 ACRL/Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians;

--Jeff Williams, Head Collections & Access Services, Biomedical Library, University of California, San Diego, for the first TRLN Management Academy: The Business of Libraries, October 2007.

AAHSL Leadership Scholarships support the development of leadership skills for future academic health sciences library directors. Since 2003, 28 scholarships have been awarded for attendance at educational programs or for individually designed learning opportunities.

AAHSL members:
We would like to invite you to join the 2006-2007 NLM/AAHSL Leadership Fellows Program fellows and mentors for a reception and graduation ceremony on Thursday, November 1, 6:30-8:00 pm, at Jurys Washington Hotel, 1500 New Hampshire Ave. NW (on Dupont Circle) in Room Burlington A. Representatives of NLM and AAHSL will acknowledge their achievement in a brief ceremony, followed by hors d'oeuvres and drinks. The event is part of the program's Capstone event, giving fellows the opportunity to meet other leaders.

The fellows and mentors who will be recognized are: Lisa Boyd, Susan Kroll, Javier Crespo, Linda Watson, Nadine Dexter, Holly Shipp Buchanan, Anne Seymour, Elizabeth Eaton, Christopher Shaffer, and Paul Schoening. If your plans call for you to be in Washington by Thursday evening, we would be very pleased to have you join us. AAHSL 2007 Annual Business Meeting Agenda

President Elain Martin, University of Massachusetts, announced the agenda for the 2007 annual business meeting today.
