Lamar Soutter Library at the University of Massachusetts Medical School

The Lamar Soutter Library at the University of Massachusetts Medical School was founded in 1970. The Library serves faculty, staff, students and researchers of the Medical School, the Graduate School’s of Nursing and Biomedical Sciences, and the UMassMemorial Health Care System. The University of Massachusetts is the state’s medical school, and the library is the only academic medical library in the Commonwealth whose primary mission is also to respond to the health information needs of the general public. Since 2001, the Library has been designated as the home of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, New England Region.

The Library strives to make information resources, whether online or in print, conveniently accessible and easy to use. The staff are committed to positioning the library as both the intellectual and cultural hub of the institution. The words that best characterize the Lamar Soutter Library are captured by its slogan, the LSL: a Legacy of Service and Learning. We invite you to take the time to explore our website (http://library.umassmed.edu), resources and read about the many projects going on at the Library.
