Opportunity Description

The Ohio State University (OSU) seeks an experienced, strategic leader for the position of Assistant Vice-President for Health Sciences and Director of the OSU Health Sciences Library (HSL).

The HSL supports the education, research, and clinical missions of one of the most comprehensive academic health sciences centers in the country. The library’s budget of more than $6M serves a primary customer base of more than 30,000 faculty, staff, and learners from five medical and health sciences colleges as well as all hospitals and biomedical research institutes. The HSL is staffed by 29 experienced librarians and technical professionals that provide services including research and education support and consultation, electronic collections, medical illustration and graphic design, consumer health information, educational technology resources, and historical medical collections and outreach programs.  Librarians at the HSL collaborate with experts at The Ohio State University Libraries and the Law Library to facilitate learner success and enhance the impact of all University education and research endeavors.

This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position with appointment in The Ohio State University Libraries. As such, this individual is required to meet University Libraries criteria for librarianship, scholarship, and service. Salary and faculty rank are dependent on experience and qualifications. Position reports directly to Dr. Daniel Clinchot, Vice Dean for Education, and Associate Vice President for Health Sciences Education.
