Come Connect and Collaborate at the AAHSL 4th Friday eSalon
Join us at the monthly eSalon! These director-only casual, unstructured discussions will have a general topic each month for attendees to share, brainstorm, and learn from each other. The topics will be geared to the unique needs of those in academic health sciences library leadership and facilitated by AAHSL members. Attendance is optional, free, and open to all AASHL directors.
October 2024 Topic: “Skeletons” in Your Closet: What have you learned from things that didn’t quite work out the way you planned
Facilitator: Stephanie Kerns, MLS, Associate Dean for Health Sciences and Biomedical Libraries Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine Assistant Professor of Medical Education
Description: In honor of October and Halloween, we are focusing on zombies, ghosts, and things that just weren’t what you planned! Is there a ghost in your library that keeps sabotaging your good intentions, but you cleansed that space and got your stuff done? Were there leadership myths that drove you down a dark, deserted road, but you found new directions and the way out? Did you start a project that turned into a zombie that just wouldn’t die, but you found a way to resurrect it or put it out of its misery?
Come to our monthly eSalon on Friday, October 25, to talk about what you learned from things that didn’t quite work out the way you planned. What advice would you give others to get through roadblocks they encounter?
*Registration is limited to Library Directors or similarly described positions (i.e. Associate Dean of Library Services, etc)
